I had the sounds of Renaissance polyphony in mind while I worked on this two voice arrangement of O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. As I mentioned in the notes for Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, working with pipe organ presents an opportunity to select from many different timbres, and in this case I was able to find timbres that very closely matched what I was hearing in my mind's ear.
